Hi there, my name is Sarah. I am a graphic designer and editor, specialised in books. After studying Literature & Linguistics at the University of Antwerp, I moved to London in 2011 to attend a one-year course in graphic design. Internships at onoffice magazine, Studio8 (now Zoë Bather, Matt Willey and Design by ST) and publisher Unit Editions followed immediately after. I stayed at Unit Editions as editorial coordinator and designer for two years until I made the leap to self-employment in 2014. Later that year I moved back to my hometown Antwerp to start my own studio for book design and editing. My hobbies include (vegetable) gardening, vegan cooking and running.

I would describe my work as clean, functional and content-driven. Preferably I can approach projects holistically by providing overarching guidance from the conceptual and research phase, over content curation and editing, to design and production. Sustainability is very important to me, both professionally and personally.

‘The content makes the design – we don’t impose a design on the content, the content tells us what it wants to look like.’ – Astrid Stavro

In 2017, I met my partner Mathieu Vancamp. Over the course of a few years, we started working together – first through our self-initiated film poster project Double Bill Posters and later on for client projects. In July 2021, we took our relationship to the next level and launched doublebill.design: a new name, website and webshop for our joint work and limited edition art prints.
