Hi there, my name is Sarah. I am a graphic designer and editor, specialised in books. After studying Literature & Linguistics at university, I moved to London in 2011 to attend a one-year course in graphic design. Design internships at Studio8 (now Zoë Bather, Matt Willey and Design by ST) and Spin/Unit Editions followed immediately after. I stayed at Unit Editions as editorial coordinator and designer for two years until I made the leap to self-employment in 2014. Later that year I moved back to my hometown Antwerp.
My work is clean, functional and content-driven. I love projects that I can approach holistically by providing overarching guidance from the conceptual and research phase, over content curation and editing, to design and production. Sustainability is very important to me, both professionally and personally.
From October 2018 to October 2019, my partner Mathieu and I each created a weekly film poster with the following restrictions: we could spend only one hour on concept and execution, use only type and/or illustration and no more than three colours. This year we’re giving a new spin to the concept. Check out Double Bill Posters on Instagram or Tumblr.

‘The content makes the design – we don’t impose a design on the content, the content tells us what it wants to look like.’ – Astrid Stavro
